HEADACHES |
|
IntroductionThe brain and spinal cord have no pain fibers. The top three conditions responsible for headaches are considered primary headaches disorders … tension headaches, migraine headaches and cluster headaches. However, head pain can arise from injury to other intracranial or extracranial tissues such as the meninges, bone of the skull, large blood vessels, neck muscles, mucosal lining of the sinuses, tooth abscesses, or entrapment of cervical nerve roots. Over the counter analgesics do provide temporary relief for most head pain but can lead to injury of body organs if used excessively.
